Gut Feeling Fails Landlords

Stop guessing. Approve tenants based on data, not appearances.

The 35-year-old married accountant might be drowning in debt. The 26-year-old single developer might earn 5x your annual rent. You cannot know from a conversation.

Financial Risk Reality

Nigerian landlords lose millions each year to tenants who looked good on paper. The documents checked out. The person did not.

Direct Bank Validation

Tenalet connects directly to their bank, ensuring nothing is faked. The data comes from the source. No middleman. No manipulation.

A Signature Means Nothing Without Income Proof

Their guarantor showed up in a nice car. But can they actually cover rent if your tenant defaults?

Tenalet verifies guarantor income the same way we verify tenant income. The guarantor receives their own verification link. They connect their bank. You receive a separate report showing their affordability and income stability.

No more trusting just names and signatures on a form.

What Income Verification Reveals

Rent Affordability Ratio

See if their income is at least 3x your rent. The industry standard threshold for rental affordability. Verified directly from bank records.

Income Stability Score

Percentage showing how consistent their income is month-to-month. A tenant with 90% stability has reliable, predictable deposits. Irregular earners show lower scores.

Income Stream Breakdown

Separate analysis for each income type: salary, wages, and business income. See stability and affordability for each stream independently.

Monthly Inflow History

Six to twelve months of income data, month by month. Spot trends: Is income growing, stable, or declining?

Multi-Account Summary

If the applicant connects multiple bank accounts, see affordability across all accounts. One view of their complete financial picture.

Employer Identification

See where their salary comes from. Confirmed by deposit history. Recurring deposits from the same source verify employment without calling HR.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. The guarantor receives their own verification link and completes the process independently. You receive separate reports for the tenant and guarantor.

We support all major Nigerian banks through Mono, a CBN-licensed Open Banking provider. This includes Access Bank, GTBank, First Bank, Zenith Bank, and many more. If your applicant banks with a licensed financial institution in Nigeria, they can complete verification.

They can connect multiple accounts during the verification process. Tenalet combines data from all connected accounts into a single report, giving you a complete view of their financial picture.

Absolutely. The applicant grants read-only access through Mono, a CBN-licensed provider. No login credentials are shared with Tenalet. We can only view transaction history — we cannot move money, make payments, or modify their account in any way.

To protect the applicant’s privacy while still giving you the data you need. You see whether their income is 1x, 2x, or 3x your rent amount — which is the decision-relevant data point. The exact naira figure stays private.

Salary deposits, wages, business income, and other recurring credits identified from bank transaction patterns. One-off transfers and loans are excluded from the income calculation.

Currently, Mono supports Cowrywise, PiggyVest, Chaka, and Risevest. Support for other mobile money accounts is coming soon.

That’s useful information in itself. A tenant who refuses to verify income when the process takes under 60 seconds may have something to hide. You decide whether to proceed without verification.

No. Income verification is a one-time check during the screening process. The applicant grants temporary, read-only access that expires after the report is generated.

Yes. The process takes under 60 seconds and is familiar — similar to linking a bank account for any fintech app. Our completion rate is high because applicants understand it helps them prove affordability without sharing sensitive documents.
